Artists Announced for Decommissioning the 20th Century Research Project
Urban Wilderness CIC are delighted to announce the successful artists who will be working at Fawley, Southhampton, and West Burton, Gainsborough. Their art pieces will sit alongside Urban Wilderness’ own work at Chatterley Whitfield, Stoke-on-Trent as part of the Keele University-led investigation into ‘Decommissioning the 20th Century’.
Keele University are taking a deeper look at changes in energy production across England as we move towards green energy across the UK to meet climate targets. This project has asked three artists to explore the changes that take place in landscape and communities that were built up around power stations as we decommission twentieth-century technology.
