A club for those who love film and want to build a community for women led cinema. Free film screenings every last Thursday of the month, 7:30pm - 10:30pm. Drinks and snacks available at every screening, all welcome.
After the screening, we invite everyone to join a discussion. Each session includes an info sheet to provide a little more context about the film and director. You're welcome to watch the film and leave, but we'd love for you to stay and take part in the conversation!
This month Join Feminist Film Club and South Cheshire and North Staffs Campaign for Nuclear Disarmament for a special screening of Carrying Greenham Home, a feature-length documentary filmed on site over seven months by Amanda Richardson and Beeban Kidron
“We fear for the future of all our children, and for the future of the living world, which is the basis of all life.”
In early September 1981, a group of women from Wales, Women for Life on Earth, arrived at Greenham Common in Berkshire, England. They had marched all the way from Cardiff to oppose the housing of 96 Cruise nuclear missiles there.
This was the beginning of the Greenham Common Women’s Peace Camp, which saw thousands of women joining in occupation and protest outside the RAF airbase.
