Longton Time Machine Photo Walk

  • Urban Wilderness CIC 15 Bennett Precinct Stoke-on-Trent, England, ST3 2HT United Kingdom (map)

Join Urban Wilderness CIC for a photo walk around Longton town centre for the Longton Time Machine timeline.

Meet at The Moony Club (15 Bennett Precinct, Longton Exchange, next to Iceland). The route will be approximately 1 mile along footpaths and pavements, covering Longton's heritage buildings on Market Street and The Strand, including the Grade II listed Victorian market, Longton Town Hall and Gladstone Pottery Museum.

Bring your own camera or smartphone, or borrow one of ours for the walk. Refreshments will be available. The photowalk is FREE, everyone is welcome and no previous experience is necessary. Under 16s should be accompanied by an adult.

Please wear suitable footwear and clothing for the weather forecast on the day.

At the end of the photowalk, we will return to The Moony Club, share images and record comments to add to our community timeline.

ACCESSIBILITY - Footpaths are uneven in places and there are limited places on the route to sit and rest. There is a short incline around 100 metres on Market Street. Toilets are available at The Moony Club, but can only be accessed up stairs. The closest accessible toilet is at The Coffee House.

PARKING - There is a paid council car park at Longton Exchange (ST3 2PF) or free parking available at Tesco/Argos/Next (ST3 2JU).

LONGTON TIME MACHINE - Urban Wilderness CIC are leading a Community Consultation about Longton. We want to capture the thoughts, aspirations and ideas of people who live in Longton.

We will gather these thoughts and ideas together and create a timeline that spotlights what we are proud of from our past and what we aspire to for our future. We will share the findings from this consultation with Stoke-on-Trent City Council and the steering group chaired by Allison Gardner MP, who will develop a Masterplan for Longton in 2026.
